Akshay Kumar slams David Dhawan for belittling ‘Tees Maar Khan’

Mumbai: The truth about truth is, it hurts. Well, that’s what exactly happened when David Dhawan made some unsavoury remarks about Akshay Kumar’s latest Box Office dud ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and Akshay got whiff of the news.

Recently, at Anil Kapoor’s birthday bash, David Dhawan bitched out Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’. However, the severe criticism of TMK did not go down well with Akshay, who promptly called up the director and gave him a piece of his mind.

Buzz has it that Akshay made David apologise over his stinging remarks about TMK. Talking to a daily, a source said, “David Dhawan entered the party with his two thumbs down saying ‘‘Tees Maar Khan’ pit gayee’. He announced that the reports of the film were not encouraging and that it was a bad film. The film, which was to be released the next day, was said to be one of the hottest films of this year and the news that the film is not up to the mark has already spread since there were many trials of the film. However one of the guests at the party told him that he should not say these things considering that Akshay Kumar is also the lead actor of his son Rohit’s film, ‘Desi Boys’. Akshay Kumar got wind of all these facts and he called David to give him a piece of his mind. David agreed that he had said all this and quietly apologised to Akshay.”

The source further added, “David is a fun guy and he likes to gossip. There was nothing wrong in it as he said it in good humour. No one gets offended by his comments as he does not mean ill. He has a heart of gold and although he makes fun of people and films, he does not mean it.”

When contacted, David Dhawan downplayed the incident and said, “Why would I do that? Akshay is the hero of my son Rohit’s film. Why would I demean him? I am very close to him and would never run down his film. I am a father and involved with my son’s career.”

Hey David, too much fun can be bad!
