Audience has evolved to connect with comedy: Mithun Chakraborty

Kolkata: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who is all set to star in his first comedy film `White Mischief` in Bengali, says the audience here has evolved more to connect with such movies unlike in the past. "The audience is changing. They are now more attuned to accept movies like `White Mischief` with subtle dollops of comedy. But they can see it in the familiar Mithun Chakraborty style, with my dialogues and delivery. Let`s see how things shape up once the scripting process gets over," Mithun said at the announcement of the movie by director Ujjwal Chatterjee. "It is high time that you strike the iron while it is hot. So it is the most opportune moment to try different types of Bengali films as the audience is ready now," Mithun said, adding that the name suggests `White Mischief` will not be a typical masala entertainer but connect class and mass. "None of my films can alienate mass, including `Nobelchor`. I know my films have to do well in both multiplexes but more in single screen theatres," the MLA `Fatakesto` actor said. About Ujjwal, Mithun said "I had seen his `Escape from Taliban` based on the life of Sushmita Bhattacharya in Afghanistan and liked the way he projected the issue." "So after discussion with him on the script and story for many days, I said let`s start it now," he said. "It is a sweet love story with comic overtones and I am the elder brother, one of the four protagonists in the group of unemployed," the `Disco Dancer` star said. Swedish House Mafia to perform in Mumbai Mumbai: Electronic dance music trio Swedish House Mafia are back in the country and will finally perform here on Tuesday after their much awaited gig was cancelled in November last year due to Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray`s death. The band, which was officially formed in late 2008, comprises of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso have returned for their `One Last Tour` and will also perform in Bangalore on January 20. "Sunburn Arena, keeping its promise, is bringing the masters of music Swedish House mafia back to India with an additional performance in Bangalore city," the organiser Sunburn Arena said in a statement. The music trio was to perform here on November 17. However, with Thackeray`s death on the same day, the performance was cancelled as a mark of respect to the leader. Swedish House Mafia performed in New Delhi on November 18 as per schedule. The supergroup has been placed at Number 12 on the DJ Magazine Top 100 rankings for 2012 and have been called the faces of mainstream progressive house music. PTI
