Delhi: The Bhatts’ latest, ‘Murder 3’, despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics, has managed to gross Rs. 13.31 crores in its first three days. The film stars actors Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sara Loren; and is directed by debutante director Vishesh Bhatt.
‘Murder 3’, which sees Randeep Hooda replacing Emraan Hashmi in the ‘Murder’ franchise, is the former’s biggest opening ever. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt tweeted recently, “#Murder3 does a weekend of 13.31 crores making it Randeep Hoodas biggest opening .. Fri 4.52 cr ,sat 4.01& sun increased to 4.78 crores!(sic)”
The film, with its focus more on storyline than on erotica, is the first in the ‘Murder’ franchise to have received a ‘U/A’ certificate. ‘Murder 3’ hit the theatres on February 15, and found good audience footfall owing to the fact that the film released during the Valentine’s weekend. While it is Pakistani actress Sara Loren’s second Hindi film after ‘Kajraare’, ‘Murder 3’ is Randeep Hooda’s first major film as a solo lead.
