Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra is an actress par excellence, for the lass has decided to take up the weaker female role in Anurag Basu’s film that had no takers, thereby leaving her coveted role in the film.
As per the industry buzz, Priyanka’s strong role in Basu’s film based on Kishore Kumar, called ‘Silence’, was the main reason for leading actress like Katrina and Asin walking out of the second female lead.
Apparently, both Katrina and Asin felt that Priyanka’s role was much meatier and would get more attention in the film. Refusing to play second fiddle, the two actresses left filmmaker Anurag Basu high and dry.
However, when Priyanka came to know of the trouble, she offered to play the second female lead in the film. Confirming the news, a source said, “Priyanka, who thinks the project is too precious to be endangered, has now volunteered to play the vacant female part, so the more powerful female part would be easier to cast.”
Talking about his woes to find the second female lead, Anurag said, “It’s true we’ve been unable to cast the other part. We have time. We’ll sort it out.”
Well, looks like Priyanka is one beauty with brains!
