Mumbai: Actor Rajeev Khandelwal is happy with the response that his latest film `Table No.21` has received and gives credit to wide-scale release for its success.
"The film has released in small towns all over the country. This has allowed people all over to watch the film. People like such content and they must get to watch it," Rajeev said. "These films are commercial films. It all depends on the kind of release the film has. If the films has good content and is released well, it always does well," he added. Earlier Rajeev featured in films like ‘Soundtrack’, ‘Shaitan’ and ‘Aamir’ and said: "`Aamir` is a cult film and if it had released now, it would have done much better." Directed by Aditya Dutt, ‘Table No.21’, described as a taut thriller by critics, also stars Tena Desae and veteran actor Paresh Rawal. It revolves around an ambitious starry-eyed couple who land in Fiji to spend a prize holiday. What about celebration to enjoy the success of ‘Table No.21’? "I don`t celebrate much and this will be over by Monday. Had it been a failure, it would have gone on for a much longer time," he said. Talking about the content of ‘Table No.21’, he said he was apprehensive in the beginning. "I was a bit scared on Friday. But then people liked the film and word of mouth spread... it is difficult to detach oneself from the film. It has a topical subject and cannot be missed," said the actor who has "shortlisted some scripts". "They are all sensible. I don`t want to do films where I am running around trees and singing songs. The scripts are content-driven," he added. IANS
