Thinking actress Vidya Balan to do an item number?

Dubbed as a thinking actress, Vidya is all set to break her demure image of a sari-clad actress, for she is all set to do an item number in Santosh Sivan’s upcoming flick ‘Urumi.’ Apparently, two years ago, she herself admitted that, “I am not against doing an item number but only if I like the song.”

Dubbed as a thinking actress, Vidya is all set to break her demure image of a sari-clad actress, for she is all set to do an item number in Santosh Sivan’s upcoming flick ‘Urumi.’ Apparently, Vidya was never against doing an item number as two years ago, she herself admitted that, “I am not against doing an item number but only if I like the song.” ‘Urumi’ is a period film which is based in fifteenth century. The story of the film revolves around the assassin of Vasco Da Gama. Buzz has it that the lead actress will play a Portuguese princess while Vidya will appear in an item song. It is believed that Vidya will perform a traditional version of Mohiniattam in the film. Talking to a news daily, a source said, “It won’t be a raunchy number but definitely a very sensuous one.” It is believed that Vidya was the Sivan’s first choice for this item song, as he was quite impressed by her seductive act in ‘Ishqiya.’ When enquired Sivan on his upcoming project and Vidya’s item number, he said, “Talks are on with Vidya. I can’t comment anything now.”
