Mumbai: Bollywood’s lackluster presence at the National Film Awards has raised several questions. While `Dabangg` and `Ishiqiya` were the only notable films present in the winners list, questions were raised as to why ‘Peeplu Live’ did not make it to any category. The film which was released last year was critically acclaimed and appreciated by the viewers as well. It was also India’s official entry to the Oscars this year. So why was it not considered for any National Award. Sources in the industry have claimed that film was not entered in the competition by the production house. The film`s director Anusha Rizvi said, “I heard it, too. And I have absolutely no idea why the film wasn`t entered. I want to clarify that the directorate and the jury members of the National Awards have been unfairly targeted." She added, "What can they do if the film was not entered by the production house? It was never submitted. I was not consulted about it. I got to know about it after the National Awards was announced.” The director admitted that she was disappointed that the film had not won any award. “I am also disappointed for all the people involved. They have worked very hard on the film. The directorate and the jury members have all expressed concern over it and said they stand by the film. But, what can we do? These decisions solely rest with the producer." Anusha and producer Aamir Khan had fallout soon after the film got released.
