Ghaziabad: `Zila Ghaziabad`, a film based on gang war in the district in the 90s, opened to full houses here today with people queueing up outside theatres to book tickets in advance.
The film, which released all over the country today, has struck a chord with audiences here. A lot of people booked tickets in bulk online.
Despite some groups earlier protesting against the title of the film, there were no disruptions in the film`s screening. However, police remained alert today and were stationed at many cinema halls.
Several multiplexes began screening the film from 10am itself and shows from morning onwards were houseful.
There was a lot of excitement among the youth regarding the film. A lot of school students were spotted at the cinemas.
The film, starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, garnered mixed reaction from the audiences, with some saying that it showed Ghaziabad in a poor light, while others felt that it was based on gang wars and did not tamper the district`s image.
The film did good business in Ghaziabad on the opening day.
