Noted Hindi writer Vilas Gupte passes away

Indore: Noted Hindi literateur and educationist Vilas Gupte died of protracted illness at his residence in the wee hours today, family said. He was 74.

His writings mainly involved short fiction and plays. Gupte had about 10 short stories books to his credit and was awarded the doctorate degree by the Vikram University. He had retired as a Hindi Professor from the Degree college here.

Besides, his hundreds of short stories appeared in national dailies and magazines. His plays like "aadmi ka gosht", "aapke kar kamlon se" were very famous and staged several times.
