Ash to announce ‘Heroine’ at Cannes Film Festival

Mumbai: Bollywood does not have a official entry to the prestigious annual Cannes Film Festival and not many stars get invited to attend it. However Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a constant guest at the festival over the past years. Ash definitely has many reasons to be the proud representative of Bollywood at the festival but her reason to be at the festival is more than just the big cosmetic brand she endorses . This year Ash will be at Cannes not just for the same old reasons but to announce her next project with the terrific National Award winning filmaker Madhur Bhandarkar`s film ‘Heroine’. Ash will be flying out on the 10th of May along with UTV`s head honcho Ronnie Screwvalla to attend the Film Festival. She will be narrating the upsides and downrides of a superstar in Bhandarkar`s film. Bhandarkar will be flying out tonight itself and his film gets officialya nnounced at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday. The first choice for the role in the film was Kareena Kapoor but she had some reservations with the bold requirements of the lead character in the film. Apparently Bhandarkar made some changes to the script and the role has now gone to Ash. A source close to the film said to a daily, "Well yes, the edgy scenes have been modified to suit Aishwarya`s personality. The script has not been changed, though”. Aishwarya is extremely enthusiastic about this new venture and she has given continuous dates for the films shooting too. She will be seen in glamorous and outstanding outfits throughout her role in ‘Heroine’. "Manish Malhotra is in charge of her dresses," added the source.
