London: Designer Chris March thought he was going to faint when he was asked to design Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep`s Golden Globes dress. The designer, who first appeared on US TV show `Project Runway`, was stunned when he was approached to creat a gown for the double-nominee as it was the opportunity he had been waiting for, Female First online reported.
"I wanted to faint when they asked me! I have always wanted to design something for someone like that, and it was a great and amazing opportunity. I liked the idea of putting a belt on an evening gown. I think it gives a modern twist. I sketched it out quickly and she really liked it," March said.
"She is the sweetest person you can imagine. She`s very friendly and welcoming and I wasn`t nervous at all," March added. March admits he was very proud when he saw her going to collect her award for Best Actress as he knew how fabulous she looked in her full-length black dress. "I almost had a heart attack when Colin Farrell read her name. It was very exciting to see her come up on stage wearing a dress that I made with my own two hands. I thought it made her look tall and thin and comfortable and confident. It looked great!," March said. PTI
