Emma`s clothing range to `alleviate poverty`

The 19-year-old face of Burberry is now creative adviser for a new line.

London: `Harry Potter` star Emma Watson has come up with a new clothing range which she claims would "alleviate poverty" in India. The 19-year-old star, who is the face of Burberry, has taken on the role of creative adviser for the new line, which comprises cotton skirts, T-shirts, jersey garments and jewellery, Femalefirst reported.
The collection is handmade by fair trade groups and helps people make money in India, Bangladesh and Nepal. The collection will hit stores in February, 2010.
"I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with," Watson said. The actress had said earlier this year that she would only bring out a fashion line if she could guarantee it would help people. "If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I`d consider it, but not just to be able to say `Look at me! I`ve got my own line!`," she said. Watson has tried to inject some of her own personal style into the pieces in this line, and used her favourite locations, including South France, London and music festivals, as inspiration. There are 26 women`s pieces and 15 men`s looks in the range, which is largely made from organic and fairly traded cotton. Bureau Report
