Fashion chain River Island asked to ditch `cannabis promoting` Rihanna

London: Fashion chain River Island has been slammed for keeping Rihanna, who caused controversy after posing with suspicious looking cigarettes in Amsterdam, as its teen face - while donating thousands to anti-drugs charities.
Campaigners accused the fashion firm of hypocrisy. Rihanna was photographed in Amsterdam posing with two huge joints and also donning a T-shirt adorned with a heart-shaped image of a cannabis leaf and under the coloured leaf were the words "high fashion" in capitals, the Mirror reported. Lucy Dawe, of charity Skunk Sense, said that Rihanna should be dropped by the chain, as she is a role model to young kids but clearly an appalling one. Dawe said that it is a huge double standard because if River Island was concerned about drug use effects, they would not be supporting a person, who is blatantly using drugs herself. ANI
