London: Freida Pinto took on a more sultry persona when she went retro for a Fifties style photoshoot for a indie fashion magazine.
The 27-year-old actress was photographed for Flaunt magazine in a short raven-haired wig that culled up images of 1950s glamour, as she batted off rumours that she’s become a demanding Hollywood diva.
The ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star was applauded for her enigmatic beauty by the magazine, whose editors entitled the spread, “Freida Pinto is Museum Quality Beautiful.”
Styled in a corseted Bottega Veneta dress in a rustic shade of emerald, the actress leaned on the heels of her embellished stilettos, tugging at the straps and pulling up the hem as if restlessly trying to rip the garment away.
Pinto is hell for leather in another shot, wearing a studded Versace bustier and matching skinny jeans from the luxury label.
The look was a touch gothic, paired with a Swarovski crystal cross necklace, coiled bracelet and hoop earrings, the Daily Mail reported.
While she played the part of a seductive diva convincingly for the seaside photoshoot that accompanied her interview, the actress said that she has falsely earned a reputation in some circles.
“When I was promoting this big-budget film, some Indian media reported that I was being a diva on set, and that’s the reason I did not want to come to India to promote the film.
“I’m like, ‘What? I’m in f***ing America. That’s why I can’t promote the film in India’. It’s not easy to be in two places at once. It’s not true,” she said.
Pinto, who rose to fame for her role in the 2008’s Oscar-winning film, was recently seen at the Cannes Film Festival promoting her upcoming role in drama ‘Desert Dancer.’
The movie is set for a 2013 release.
