I want to learn filmmaking, says Anvita Sudarshan

Anvita Sudarshan, who recently won Miss India Worldwide 2012 Pageant, says she wants to learn the various intricacies of filmmaking.

New Delhi: Anvita Sudarshan, who recently won Miss India Worldwide 2012 Pageant, says she wants to learn the various intricacies of filmmaking.
The 21-year-old is a graduate in Psychology and unlike other beauty pageant winners she said she wanted to work behind the camera. "I have always been fascinated by theatre, dance and films. Film is the contemporary version of theatre. Whenever I watch any film, I always try to find out the various camera techniques that makes it so beautiful. I have also worked as an assistant to filmmaker Aditya Bhattacharya. I have applied in New York Film Academy to study a course in filmmaking. I want to pursue my career in filmmaking," she told reporters. Held in the capital city of Suriname in South America on February 25, Miss India Worldwide is a contest for young women of Indian origin residing in different countries. "My confidence level has gone up after winning the contest. There are many things that I have learnt about life. I have become more disciplined in life now," said Sudarshan, who also won the title of Miss Beautiful Face in the pageant. Born in India and brought up in Japan, England and Kuwait, Sudarshan also loves to read. She has also edited many magazines. "When I was 14, I edited `Geo Junior`, a magazine of geography learning brought out by a Hyderabad based publication house. Now, I am working with Amar Chitra Katha group of publications as assistant editor," she said. PTI
