Sean Combs sued over perfume

London: Singer Sean Combs has been sued by a cosmetic firm over one of his perfumes.
The hip-hop singer had launched the Sean John Clothing Company, which also creates perfumes and aftershaves, and Combs is now embroiled in a legal battle with executives at Empress Haircare Products, who claim that Combs attempted to trademark the name "Empress" even though they have already been granted the right to use the name. They also claim that the representative for Combs` company contacted them in 2010 and offered to compensate them in return for handing over the trademark, but they refused, and the trademark has since been used on a fragrance and lotion line, reports dailystar.co.uk. According to Allhiphop.com, the lawsuit cites infringement of a federally registered trademark and unfair competition, while also demanding damages and profits from Combs` products. IANS
