Mumbai: Gautam Vora, boyfriend of top model Viveka Babajee who committed suicide, today approached the sessions court seeking anticipatory bail.
The 37-year-old Viveka took the extreme step on Friday evening by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in suburban Bandra.
Police recovered several letters addressed to Gautam in her apartment.
Fearing arrest, Gautam had filed for anticipatory bail before the court. According to police, Viveka and Gautam, who were
dating from the last few months, had an argument a day before the supermodel committed suicide.
Meanwhile, police has summoned Vora asking him to appear before it for questioning.
Vora has remained untraceable since the death of the supermodel.
"We have summoned Gautam. The summons have been issued at his Napean Sea Road residence in South Mumbai," a senior police officer said today.
"His questioning will help us unfold the mystery behind the suicide. Gautam has been referred to on several occasions in the model's diary," the official said.
A mobile phone, laptop, diary and a few letters addressed to Vora were among the various things that were recovered from her residence, police said.
