Women celebs throng Amrapali`s show

Amrapali`s show at IIJW was high on woman power.

Mumbai: Designer jewellery brand Amrapali`s show at the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) Thursday was high on woman power with many female celebrities turning up and the show stopper being Bollywood actress Konkona Sen Sharma.
The list of other celebrities who added glitter to the show were folk singer Ila Arun and her daughter Isshita Arun, Bollywood actress Kiron Kher, playback singer Alka Yagnik, fashion designer Anita Dongre, television actress Neena Gupta and her fashion designer daughter Masaba. "I`m privileged to be here because I believe that nothing else makes women look so beautiful than wearing jewellery by Amrapali. I`ve been wearing their designs since so many years and I love them," Kiron told reporters here. "We are so happy that so many people have come to support and encourage us," Rajesh Ajmera of Amrapali said. Amrapali, which started in Jaipur in 1978, presented a bridal collection of traditional jewellery that focused on the rich heritage of India. Konkana opened the show wearing a five-row kundan neck piece, armlet, bangles, earrings and a choker. White gold, pearls, diamonds, meenakari work and kundan were used for a line of spread out neck pieces, bangles, cuffs, maang tikkas, rings and pendants. IANS
