Recipe: Channa Dal–Subz-pulao

Taste the delectable Channa Dal–Subz-pulao.


1 cup rice
1/2 cup chana dal
2 tsp ghee
1 piece cinnamon
1 bay leaf
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt and chilli powder to taste
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1 cup rice
1 cup boiled vegetables of your choice(peas,carrots,beans)


Heat a pan and melt ghee. Add bay leaf, cinnamon and cumin seeds. Allow to crackle.
Add salt and chilli powder; add rice with 21/2 cups of water and the channa dal.
Once the water boils, Add the vegetables.
Lower the flame and allow to simmer till rice has done.
Add garam masala powder.
