Enjoy this deliccious malai ki pooran poli.
For the dough:
Wheat flour 1 cup
Oil 2 tsp
Milk 4 tsp
Water as required
A pinch of salt
For the filling:
Boiled and crushed American corns 3/4 cups
Ghee 2 tsp
Sugar 4 tsp
Brown sugar 1 tsp
A pinch of nutmeg
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Raisins 1/4 tsp
Handful of almond and pista flakes
Desiccated coconut 1 tsp
Butter as required
Make a soft dough using the flour, oil, milk and little water (if required) and knead well.
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and keep aside.
Roast the corn paste with ghee and sugar over a medium flame until they are lightly browned. Mix with remaining filling ingredients.
Cool it and divide the filling into 4 equal portions and keep aside.
Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle of (3" or 4") diameter.
Place one portion of the filling mixture in the centre of the circle.
Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly.
Roll out again into a circle of (6") diameter using flour to roll.
Cook on a non-stick pan until both sides are brown.
Repeat with the remaining dough and filling to make 3 more puranpolis.
Serve hot with by rubbing little butter (optional).
