1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp chilli powder
3/4 cup chopped tomatoes
4 tbsp masoor dal
salt to taste
On a pressure cooker, heat a little oil. Add onions and fry on a medium flame for about 2 minutes.
Now, garlic and chilli powder could be added to the onions.
Saute the mixture on the medium flame for a few more minutes
Put masoor dal on this mixture along with tomatoes and saute for a couple of minutes.
Add the salt, 2½ cups of water and mix well
Pressure cook the mix for 2 whistles
Transfer to a pan and boil for about 5 - 7 minutes
Garnished with coriander, lemon wedges.
