Los Angeles: ‘Trainspotting’ star Ewan McGregor is in talks to play the villainous role of the leader of an outlawed gang in Gavin O` Connor`s ‘Jane Got A Gun’.
The 42-year-old actor has recently wrapped the production of the film ‘Son Of A Gun’ in Australia, reported Deadline.
In the film Natalie Portmann plays the wife of an outlaw (Noah Emmerich) who leaves that gang after he gets shot up, and returns home. Knowing his former outlaw mates will come to finish him off and destroy her farm, Jane is forced to rekindle a relationship with a past love (Joel Edgerton), a capable gunman who can help her. Originally the role was to be essayed by Jude Law but he exited when the original director Lynne Ramsay abruptly left the night before production of the film began. After O` Connor came on to replace Ramsay as the helmer, they got Bradley Cooper to play the part. Cooper too dropped out due to a busy schedule. PTI
