Halle Berry to play white woman in `Cloud Atlas`

London: Halle Berry, the black American actress, is playing the role of a white woman in the upcoming film based on the novel Cloud Atlas.

She has agreed to ‘white up’ for her performance in the adaptation of David Mitchell’s acclaimed novel. “I hope I am allowed to tell you this, but Halle Berry plays a white woman at one point,” the Telegraph quoted her co-star James D’Arcy as telling Mandrake. “Everyone is playing multiple roles in the film. Ben Whishaw plays a woman at one point “It’s a crazy, sprawling epic. I play someone who is 70 for quite a while and I play an Asian at one point. It’s nuts,” he said. ANI
