James Cameron moves to dismiss `Avatar` lawsuit

James Cameron has asked a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit against ‘Avatar’, filed by a screenwriter, who alleged that it shares key plot details with his work.

Los Angeles: Filmmaker James Cameron has asked a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit against ‘Avatar’, filed by a screenwriter, who alleged that it shares key plot details with his work.
Sci-fi screenwriter Bryant Moore filed suit against Cameron late last year, claiming the moviemaker based his highly-successful film on his scripts for two projects called ‘Aquatica’ and ‘Descendants: The Pollination’. Moore is demanding billions of dollars in damages, reports tmz.com. Cameron has now filed his own legal documents in a bid to have the case thrown out, insisting ‘Avatar’ plot and characters are completely different to Moore`s projects. IANS
