Jim Carrey to play a villain in `Amazing Spider-Man 2`?

Los Angeles: Funnyman Jim Carrey might feature as a villain in the upcoming superhero movie ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ after he was spotted visiting the sets in March.

The rumor is sparked by an Instagram photo featuring the ‘Bruce Almighty’ actor paying a visit to the movie sets, reported Aceshowbiz. "It`s Jim Carrey! He came to the spiderman set today! I wonder what he`s doing there," a fan captioned the said picture. Carrey might only have dropped by for a while, but reports suggest it could be a hint at his potential involvement in the second installment in the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ film series. Due out May 2014, the sequel still stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti will be introduced as Electro and Rhino. PTI
