Justin Bieber overtakes Michael Jackson on US Box Office

Los Angeles: Teen sensation Justin Bieber has overtaken `King of Pop` Michael Jackson`s `This Is It` to have the most successful concert-themed movie at the US box office.

Bieber earned USD 72.2 million at the domestic box office while Sony`s `This Is It` grossed USD 72.1 million domestically, the Hollywood Reporter said. The movie `Justin Bieber`, released six weeks ago, was directed by Jon M Chu. However, `This Is It` still holds the worldwide record, having grossed USD 189.1 million overseas for a global cume of USD 261.2 million. Bieber`s film has grossed USD 10.8 million at the international box office, which is a lot better than the Jonas Brothers, who grossed only USD 4 million internationally, while Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour earned USD 5 million.
