London: `Vanilla Sky` the star studded film which had Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz in it`s cast has been voted the most confusing film ever made.
The 2001 movie topped a poll run by the DVD renting firm LoveFilm as fans found the plotline difficult to understand, reported a news website. The film, which was directed by Cameron Crowe, told a surreal tale of a wealthy publishing heir, played by Cruise, who, after a car accident leaves him horribly disfigured, begins to suffer from a series of strange hallucinations. "It`s clear dreaming is the biggest cause of confusion for viewers. Switching from reality to dream sequences pulls the wool over our eyes," said Helen Cowley of LoveFilm. David Lynch`s `Mulholland Drive` came in second place while `Donnie Darko`, which was directed by Richard Kelly, was third. Other films in the top 10 included `The Matrix Revolutions`, `Memento`, `Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind` and `A Clockwork Orange`. PTI
