Will Smith not starring in `Independence Day 2`

New York: Will Smith will not be reprising his role in the sequel of the action film `Independence Day.`

According to Director Roland Emmerich , the actor is too expensive. Emmerich has confirmed to the New York Daily News that the second installment of the 1996 movie, which skyrocketed the Hollywood star`s career, will not have Smith. Emmerich asserted that half of the people are from the original film and the other half are new. `Independence Day 2` is set for a July 3, 2015 release. ANI
