The HBO series starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Kelly Macdonald, and Michael Shannon among others, was created by Terence Winter, reported Variety. It was executive produced by Hollywood A-lister like Martin Scorsese, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Tim Van Patten and Howard Korder among others. "We`re thrilled to get the go-ahead for a fifth season of `Boardwalk Empire`. After much discussion with my creative team and the channel, we`ve decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion," Winter said. The series debuted on an entertainment channel in 2010 and has earned numerous Emmy and Golden Globe awards during the past four seasons.
