New Delhi: Industrialist B.K. Modi says that Buddha is a global subject which is not just confined to India.
Produced under Modi`s banner, Spice Global, teleseries ‘Buddha’, which captures Buddha`s journey, went on air Sep 8 on Zee TV.
He says that Buddha is a source of inspiration for millions of people around at the world. "Buddha has been a source of inspiration for millions of people across the globe. It`s not just in India. Many international projects have been made on Buddha. So, it`s a global subject now," Modi said at a press conference here Thursday. "In every house across the world there is a Buddha that is born. In every youth there is a Buddha. He stood against his father`s wishes and made his own choices, so there is a Buddha in each one of us," he added. "Buddha" was earlier supposed to be a film, but later it was decided to bring it on the small screen as a teleseries. "There are so many facts about Buddha`s life that one couldn`t have presented it in a two-three hour movie. Each episode of the show is like a mini film and it will bring across the life of Buddha to the viewers in a beautiful way," Modi said. "By showing it episode by episode I think we will be able to do justice to Buddha`s charater," he added. The upcoming episodes will show a grown-up Prince Siddharth and also his love story with Yashodhara. Modi was here to introduce the actor who will essay the lead role in the show. Newcomer Himanshu Soni has bagged the role and Modi congratulated him for the effort he has put in to make his character look real. "I want to congratulate Himanshu for the efforts he has put in the character. He has gone through a vigorous training, learning Buddha`s preachings, martial arts. I see a changed man in him now," he said. 2010 Miss India finalist, Kajal Jain, will be seen as Siddharth`s love interest.
