Cowell wants Paula Abdul for `The X Factor`

Los Angeles: Music mogul Simon Cowell may reunite with his `American Idol` rival Paula Abdul on the judging panel of the US `X-Factor`.

They sparred a lot on `Idol`, but Cowell is in talks to rope in the `Opposites Attract` hitmaker for the American version of his hit UK show, reported a website. "Paula is one of people Simon is talking to though no one has signed on the dotted line," said a source close to Cowell. Abdul would join the already-named LA Reid and British `X Factor` judge Cheryl Cole as the three judges alongside Cowell. Cowell and Abdul`s relationship helped blast `Idol` to superhit status. Abdul left the show after 2009, while Cowell said goodbye the next year. PTI
