London: Former `Friends` star Jennifer Aniston is reportedly planning to return to the small screen with the long-running soap `Days of Our Lives` in an effort to save her father John Aniston`s job.
The soap`s producers, who intended to axe it at the end of its current series because of disastrous ratings, believed that with the introduction of Jennifer, 42, it will get a huge ratings boost, reported Daily Express.
John, 78, who has played Greek mobster Victor Kiriakis on the show for 24 years and still appearing in 1,199 episodes, has pleaded with the producers not to curb the show.
Jennifer has reportedly signed a pay rate of less than USD 400 a day for several episodes.
"We`re hoping Jen will join us in November, when all the networks are at their most competitive. She has said she wants to help but her schedule is so tight we may have to cram a lot of shooting into just a few days," a source said.
