New Delhi: She made the noodle-strapped, halter, backless and low-cut blouses a rage a decade ago, but for her role as an anchor on kids` singing reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior’, Mandira Bedi is ready to put on "lots of clothes".
One couldn`t help but ask Mandira what will she wear for the show.
"The dress code is `lots of clothes`," Mandira, who glamourised the age-old sari and blouse concept as host of ‘Extraa Innings’ during the 2003 cricket World Cup said.
She broke into laughter, and added: "It will be more clothes than you`ve ever seen me in before."
On a serious note, Mandira, now a mother of an almost two-year-old boy, has sported casual wear for the audition rounds. "Jeans, harem pants and jumpsuits," she said, adding that for the theatre rounds, it may be "formal by one notch".
But for the gala rounds, which will see some of the top contenders, she will have to give in to "a little bit of formality".
Mandira is co-hosting the show with Karan Wahi. Though she has hosted several reality shows, and live events over the years, this is the first time she has taken on a show involving children.
She admits she isn`t one to baby talk children, but says when one is working around children, "you have to simplify things a little bit".
"You can`t be complicated with them. There`s a certain language you`d use with them," she added.
