New Delhi: `Raavi`, a new show that will soon go on air, is the journey of a girl named Raavi, who is made to disguise herself like a boy by her mother and is given a new name - Ravinder.
Actress Rashmi Singh, who has been part of `Dwarkadheesh`, will be seen as Raavi`s mother Amrita, while Rimi Shrivastav will essay the character of Raavi.
Talking about her character in the show, Rashmi said the storyline is very "different" and added: "Amrita takes a very strong decision to keep her daughter`s identity a secret."
The cast has so far shot for the first few episodes and the actress says that as the story goes further the audience will realise that it`s a very light-hearted show.
"As far as the storyline goes there is no such tension in the family. It`s a very caring family that takes care of Amrita as their daughter. And when it goes further the audience will see that the mother-daughter duo share a very strong friendship.
"If nobody is there in the house, Amrita dresses Raavi like a girl, with bangles etc. It is a beautiful story of a mother and a daughter who keep a secret," Rashmi said.
The character of Papaji, Amrita`s father-in-law, will be essayed by actor Govind Pandey.
The actor is happy to be associated with the show and said that it`s the concept of the show that appealed to him.
"It is a very interesting story. The concept appealed me as it`s very unique. We have already started shooting for the show but the interesting part is how the story is presented as it goes," Govind said.
`Raavi` will go on air on BIG Magic starting Sep 9.
