Mumbai: After considering lot of prolific actors from the industry to enact the character of Asad in ‘Qubool Hai’, Zee TV has locked Raqesh Vashisht to play the role. The channel was clear that besides being a good actor, the person who would bag the role had to be a thorough professional with a good track record in the television industry. Raqesh fitted the bill to the T!

The creative team from the production house Four Lions and the channel were unanimous in selecting Raqesh as the lead opposite Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti) in Qubool Hai. It was after much contemplation and deliberation that they zeroed down on Raqesh. The Zee programming team believed that, “Raqesh is not only handsome and good-looking but also his pairing with Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti) looked amazing. The best and most important part is that he is known in the industry for his professionalism. We’re glad that he has agreed to come on board. We have just shot his entry and he has totally convinced us that he can carry off the role of Asad with élan.”

On taking over the mantle of Asad, said Raqesh, “Its homecoming for me as my debut on television happened with Saat Phere on Zee TV. Qubool Hai is a hugely popular show worldwide and Asad is an enormously popular character. I’m happy that the creative team thought that I would be appropriate for the role. The year has ended on a very good note for me as my fans will see me all seven days! Monday to Friday on Qubool Hai and over the weekend on my dance reality show. I shot a dangerous fire sequence as my entry scene a couple of days back and it has come out really well. The cast and crew have given me a very warm welcome and I’m hoping a similar response from the viewers as well.”

Amidst high drama and with unexpected turn of events, Asad (Raqesh Vashisht) saves Zoya’s (Surbhi Jyoti) life from the evil clutches of Mumani ( Alka Kaushal) and for the sake of his ammi, Dilshad (Shalini Kapoor) and abbu Rashid (Waqar Sheikh), comes back to Mamu and Mumani’s house. With Asad’s re-entry in the house, Mumani doesn’t know how to handle the situation as all tricks she had up her sleeves fails miserably. On the other hand, Mamu (Tej Sapru) gets more anxious and desperate to find his lost daughter. Zoya finds her life back on track with Asad’s return. Will this lead to the much touted Asad-Zoya nikaah in the weeks to come?? Only time will tell…
