Mumbai: If you have been wondering why Shakti Kapoor was the only male inmate in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, then you probably would want to read this. The actor was the only male member introduced at the beginning of the show which is being hosted by Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. The actor was to stay in the house with 12 women celebrities. Apparently, when the producers started approaching celebrities for the 5th season of the reality show, they had planned to stick to the old format of having 7 women and 7 men as inmates of the house, and made calls to number of male celebrities as well. This included actors Akashdeep Sehgal, Sumeet Sehgal, Amar Upadhyay,Jackie Shroff and sportsmen like Mike Tyson and Jonty Rhodes. But sources claim that changes were made at the last moment to give the show a unique twist. The actors had to be asked to leave the show and were also paid a token amount by the producers of the show. “The producers asked them to leave the show and provided them with a token amount, requesting the actors not to reveal the incident to anyone,” says the source. This sudden change was made to boost the TRPs of the channel and give the show a different feel. Earlier this week, actor Amar Upadhyay made an entry after Nihita Biswas was evicted. Rumours have it that others like Akashdeep and Sumeet Saigal might make an entry soon. In fact, in last night’s episode, Shakti Kapoor is heard saying that two more inmates might make an entry soon. Guess we will have to wait and watch. Source: DNA
