Mumbai: Tisca Chopra is all set to host a television show focusing on real-life criminals living under the burden of guilt in the aftermath of their deeds and their resolve for redemption.
Produced by Saregama India Ltd, `Prayaschit, Gunahon Ke Zakhm`, is a show based on the real-life crime stories recreated and shown through the eyes of the criminals.
The show will narrate stories of Seema Parihar, known as the second Bandit Queen, Laxman Gole who was sucked into the vortex of crime after he slashed his neighbor with a razor and went on to form one of the dreaded gangs in the suburban Kurla and that of Samunder Singh who was tricked by his friends to stab a Christian nun among others, who will also reveal their dark deeds.
"I am honored and privileged to be part of this show. There is a thin line between doing crime and being a normal person... and you will not know when you will cross the line. Everyone gets a second chance and so should these people also," Tisca, who had acted in `Taare Zameen Par`, said.
"No one is born as a criminal, it is the circumstance that make you a criminal," said Parihar.
Explaining the concept behind the show, Sony Entertainment Television, Senior EVP and Business Head, Sneha Rajani said, "Audiences will get to see stories of real life criminals who have committed heinous acts and are now seeking redemption. This is an innovative concept".
The show will be aired from September 9 on Sony.
