Mumbai: TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ is controversy’s favourite child. From its very first edition, ‘Bigg Boss’ has been making headlines more often than not for all the wrong reasons.
The house of ‘Bigg Boss’ has seen people from various walks of life sharing a common roof for a few months. The equation of people sharing the house grows in due course- from the initial warmth to subsequent back-biting.
All kinds of people- loud mouthed, abusers, cry babies, drama queens- have all been a part of the house through all the seven seasons of the show.
The audiences have witnessed all of the following - inmates using expletives and yelling at the top of their lungs; fists fights; sleaze and some sensuous moments; and last but not the least some high voltage drama.
The format of the show in itself is very interesting as it acts as a perfect platform of voyeuristic treat for the audience. And to top it all, the show has popular film personalities as presenters.
Beginning with Arshad Warsi, followed by Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Bigg Boss’ has had a rocking time at the TRP charts. And with superstar Salman Khan on board since the fourth season, the makers of the show have struck a fortune.
The seventh edition of ‘Bigg Boss’, like its previous chapters has plenty of entertainment in store for the audience.
The makers of the show have received a show cause from the ministry of information and broadcasting, yet ‘Bigg Boss’ continues to be a huge hit.
A statement from the channel airing the show, on Wednesday read, “Today, we have received a show cause notice on `Bigg Boss` from the ministry of information & broadcasting (I&B), and we shall submit our response to the same within time limit prescribed by the ministry.”
Will the popularity of the show diminish if it curtails its drama entertainment quotient?
Let`s wait and watch.
