Nine new models to dazzle LFW Winter/Festive 2011

Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 that kick-starts tonight in Mumbai will see 9 new faces selected from a bunch of 118 aspiring models.
Winter/Festive 2011 Female Model had auditioned 118 aspiring models at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai this June. After three rounds of short listing, the jury comprising of choreographers Anu Ahuja and Marc Robinson, designer and stylist Aki Narula, photographers Prasad Naik and Vishesh Verma, model-actress – Monikangkana Dutta and Lakme Fashion Week joint organizers Anil Chopra (CEO, Lakme Lever) and Anjana Sharma (Director- Fashion IMG Reliance) selected the 9 new faces. The models were chosen based on their confidence, poise and their ability to bring a designer’s creation to life on the ramp. Meeting these criteria were aspirants Mitali Rannorey, Nijhum Patra, Sweta Dolli, Xamira Mohlmann, Diana Loboda, Karen Lima, Keren Silveirra, Mariia Cherniakovych and Noelia Barreiro. LFW has played a key role in introducing fresh faces to the industry and maintaining excellent standards of quality with new talent. Over the last few years, the platform has brought to the forefront some of the industry’s most promising faces like Miss India World Kanishta Dhankhar and Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria. Speaking on the occasion, Anil Chopra, CEO, Lakmé Lever said “Lakme Fashion Week has an illustrious history of discovering and launching new talent into the Indian fashion industry. The turnout out for this recent season’s model auditions was especially promising and has provided LFW with a noteworthy number of new faces; the selection of 9 models to walk for Winter/Festive 2011 is our largest selection ever. Each season, LFW has set a benchmark for models thus making us the preferred platform for new talent.” Also Anjana Sharma, Director Fashion, IMG Reliance added, “As a platform that provides recognition to new talent across the various facets of fashion, we are proud to present the future faces of fashion.
