Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's role extends to no more than 20 minutes in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has only 20 minutes role in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'
New Delhi: Amidst the entire Pakistani artiste controversy that Karan Johar's directorial 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' has faced, the Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has decided to stay away from its promotions. However, the shocking news is that even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who plays Ranbir's love interest in the movie will also stay off from promoting the quadruplet romantic drama.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the former miss world will stay off from its promotions as she has only 20-minute role in the movie that makes it more of an extended cameo. Hence, the film’s lead characters continue to be Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
A source was quoted as saying, “Somehow, Aishwarya and Karan Johar were unable to come together in the past in spite of their best intentions. Aishwarya was signed for Dostana after she was engaged to marry Abhishek Bachchan. As per the script, she was supposed to walk away from Abhishek and walk off with Bobby Deol. However, for some reasons, Aishwarya opted out of the project and the role later went to Priyanka Chopra. Several other offers from Karan Johar came to her which again somehow never materialised. Now, when he offered her ADHM, she couldn’t say no for two reasons. Firstly, there was the litany of misfires in the past to consider. Secondly, she loved her role of a creative woman in charge of her destiny.”
