`Aiyyaa` not woman-centric: Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji feels it wouldn`t be right to call it a "woman-centric" film.

New Delhi: Actress Rani Mukerji has a meaty role in ‘Aiyyaa’ but feels it wouldn`t be right to call it a "woman-centric" film. She says it is more of a simple love story.
"I would call it a romantic film, and I wouldn`t categorise this as a woman-centric story," Rani said in a press conference here Monday. The story of ‘Aiyyaa’ revolves around a Marathi girl, Meenakshi Deshpande (Rani), whose parents are looking for a suitable groom for her. She falls in love with a Tamil boy, essayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Rani looked pretty in a cream-coloured anarkali suit at the event, where she was accompanied by Prithviraj and director Sachin Kundalkar. The team came late, but Rani won everyone`s heart with her fun interaction and million-dollar smile. The team also showed a four-minute version of the song ‘Aga bai’ from the movie. Post ‘Aiyyaa’, Rani will be seen in director Reema Kagti`s ‘Talaash’. She is quite positive, and prefers not to look back at the past. "I am doing `Talaash` and I am very happy talking about films that I do. There is no point talking about films that I rejected or I regret doing," she said. IANS
