Mumbai: It seems the Ajay Devgn vs Yash Raj Films tussle is an old one. The two producers have been at logger heads for some time now and it is only during Diwali when their films- ‘Son Of Sardar’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ released, that the differences came to the fore. Earlier in the year, Devgn`s company had asked YRF for permission to use an audio clip of their song ‘Kajra Re’ in their film ‘Bol Bachchan’. A part of the song was needed for a dance sequence which was to feature Abhishek Bachchan. "For the medley, Ajay`s production house had sourced the clips of ‘Ooh La La’ ( ‘The Dirty Picture’, 2011), ‘Darling’ (‘7 Khoon Maaf’, 2011), ‘Bhaag DK Bose’ (‘Delhi Belly’, 2011) and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan Main Naachungi’ (‘Sholay’, 1975) among others. When YRF demanded 5 lakh to use ‘Kajra R’e, Kajol told Ajay that she`d speak to Aditya Chopra and sort it out," stated a source to Times of India. Ajay, apparently, declined the idea, saying he was ready to pay 5 lakh for the clip. However, things took an ugly turn when YRF suddenly doubled the price without informing Ajay’s production house. "YRF had sent a bill of 20 lakh to ADF. Ajay was shocked YRF had charged him four times more than what was agreed upon verbally. So much so that he decided not to use Kajra Re in the medley,” added the source. As a result, the song was not included in the film and Ajay thanked the other producers in the credits but excluded YRF completely.
