Channing Tatum reveals `X-Men` talks for Gambit role

Channing Tatum has entered discussions with the producers of `X-Men` about playing the role of Gambit.

Los Angeles: Actor Channing Tatum has entered discussions with the producers of `X-Men` about playing the role of Gambit.
The 33-year-old `21 Jump Street` star has confirmed meeting the film`s producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who had earlier revealed that she wanted the actor to play the Cajun mutant for a solo film, reported MTV news. "I met with Lauren Shuler Donner. And I would love it. Gambit is really the only X-Man I`ve ever loved. I mean I`ve loved them all. They`re all great. I just related to him. He`s just kind of suave," Tatum said. "He`s the most un X-Men X-Man that`s ever been in `X-Men`. Other than maybe Wolverine, who`s like the anti-hero. I hope it (comes together). You never know it`s a weird industry. If the stars align, I would die to play it. I`m already working on the accent," he added. Gambit is a Cajun card player who first appeared in `X-Men` cinematic universe through 2009`s `X-Men Origins: Wolverine`. His alter ego, Remy LeBeau, was initially set to be played by Tatum in 2006`s `X-Men: The Last Stand`, but the character was cut off from the storyline.
