Thiruvananthpuram: The annual international film festival of city-based cinema and cultural outfit Filca will be held at the University Students Centre here from September 26 to October 2.

The attraction of this year's festival will be the retrospective of Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos, whose seven critically acclaimed works including 'The Hunters', 'The Beekeper' and 'Landscape in the Mist' would be screened, Filca General Secretary Dr MKP Nair told a press meet here today.

In the country focus section, a handful of widely appreciated Iranian films would be shown in partnership with the Iran Cultural House, Mumbai.

The international package would also include a couple of Chinese and Korean films.

The festival will open with the screening of Malayalam film 'CR No 89', directed by Sudevan.

The festival will also screen Satyajit Ray's classic 'Charulata' as part of Filca's commitment to bring to new generation the all-time best cinemas, Nair said.

Eminent filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be inaugurating the festival and Kerala Chalachitra Academy Chairman Rajeev Nath will be present on the occasion.
