Los Angeles: Original "Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman has put an end to all the rumours regarding the untitled spin-off, saying that the male-centric film is not happening.
The 68-year-old filmmaker has directed the first two "Ghostbusters" films, reported Aceshowbiz.
"There has been a lot of excitement recently about what is happening with the 'Ghostbusters' franchise. As the producer of the new 'Ghostbusters' film, I feel the need to clarify," Reitman said in a statement.
The director, best known for his comedy work, said the only one "Ghostbusters" film in the works is Paul Feig's untitled "Ghostbusters" reboot.
"There is only one new 'Ghostbusters' movie and that is the Paul Feig-directed version coming next July, presently filming and going fantastically. The rest is just noise," he confirmed.
