Johnny Depp signs to play infamous criminal in `Black Mass`?

Los Angeles: Hollywood star Johnny Depp has reportedly signed on to play the role of a real-life criminal, James `Whitey` Bulger in biopic `Black Mass`. Bulger, a former FBI informant, who became FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. He was arrested in 2011 after 16 years on the run, reported Deadline. Depp, 50, reportedly dropped out of `Black Mass` last year as he apparently wanted to be paid more. Tom Hardy is said to be in talks to play John Connolly, an FBI agent and childhood friend of Bulger`s, who ended up in prison for alerting Bulger that he was about to be indicted.
