New Delhi: The much-hyped Pakistani artistes controversy is still troubling Bollywood filmmakers. It was being said that the role of Pak sensation Mahira Khan will be chopped off from the upcoming film 'Raees'. But, it turns out that all such talks were mere rumours.
“What can I say? We’ve completed her shooting. The film is ready for release. If we had shot the film after the recent developments (the deterioration in Indo-Pak relations) we would have certainly not worked with any artiste from Pakistan,” a Deccan Chronicle report quoted producer Farhan Akhtar as saying.
Earlier, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) also gave a 48-hour ultimatum to all Pakistani cine and tele-artistes to quit India or face consequences in the wake of the September 18 terror attack. It left 19 Indian soldiers dead at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir.
The subsequent bilateral unrest between India and Pakistan had a spill over in film industries on both sides of the border.
