Los Angeles: Roberto Orci has decided to step down as the director of 'Star Trek 3'. Orci, however, will remain on board as a producer, said the Hollywood Reporter.
The reason behind his departure is not known. The screenwriter was set to make his directorial debut with the film. He was slated to step in after J J Abrams, who directed the first two movies in the series.
Abrams is currently busy helming 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'.
