Tom Hanks stars in 'Bridge of Spies' trailer

Los Angeles: The Cold War heats up in the trailer for Steven Spielberg's thriller "Bridge of Spies", starring Tom Hanks.

The duo have reunited to tell the true story of Brooklyn lawyer James B Donovan (Hanks), who was thrust into the world of global politics without even a warning. Donovan is assigned by the US government with travelling to Berlin in order to negotiate the release of a downed pilot from the Soviet Union.

"Bridge of Spies" has been adapted for the big screen by the Coen brothers and Suite Fran?aise's Matt Charman.

Spielberg's impressive cast includes Mark Rylance, Alan Alda, Amy Ryan, Sebastian Koch and Austin Stowell as the players who shaped this international crisis.

"Bridge of Spies" releases on October 16 in the US and November 27 in the UK.
