Chennai: After four successive chartbusters, playback singer Job Kurien has struck gold again with `Thaazhe Nee Tharame` in the just released Malayalam thriller `Thira` receiving rave reviews.
"I have had a fruitful year,if you discount the ligament tear in my leg some months ago. `Akaluvathenthino` (in Mohanlal-starrer `Red Wine`) `Maanikya Chirakulla` (Idukki Gold), `Mehfil Kozhukkanu` (`Honeybee`) and `Nilavaaname` (`English`) did well and drew appreciation, he said.
Singing `Thaazhe Nee Tharame` in the Shobhana-starrer `Thira` directed by Vineeth Srinivasan was a `diifferent feel` altogether. Job, Sachin Warrier and Sayonara Philip crooned the number which had lyrics by Anu Elizabeth. `Maanikya Chirakullu` was a melody featuring five characters in their younger days, aimed at creating a nostalgic feeling but the song in Thira had an `intense` theme and the mood was dark, he said. "Music composer Shaan Rahman explained the situation and I sang according to it.I am happy that it has come out well." National award winning music director Bijibal said "Job enhances the aesthetic value of the song. He has an intense approach to a song as he is a music composer himself (non-filmi). That is why, he is different.." It is the first time Vineeth is doing a thriller. His earlier movies- `Malarvadi Arts Club`, dealt with the struggles of five youngsters and `Thattathin Mariyathu` was a musical-romantic.The main characters in Thira are Shobhana and Dhyan, Vineeth?s brother, Job said. None from his family had a musical background. His father was passionate about music but has not crooned any numbers. They are a family of agriculturists and hail from Kuttanad, Kerala?s rice bowl in Alappuzha district. They migrated to Kerala`s capital of Thiruvanathapuram years ago where he did his schooling. He admits his father`s passionate interest in music led him to focus and emerge as a successful singer. It was during his college days that his involvement in music went to another level. He participated in all fests while doing his BTech in Bangalore, and then went to emerge runner-up in a music reality show on Amrita TV. Job made his debut in `Black Cat rpt Black Cat` in 2007- a duet with veteran K S Chitra, which was well-received.
